New Wave OLC has new ideas and strategies for the cyber family of today.Our
Progressive Movement model of Dewey's Theory stresses that education is built
from meaningful activities in a social context. By combining our roles of
trans-classroom teachers with that of academic learning coaches, our ideas,
strategies, and practices transfer our classroom experiences to online learning
successes. Through our socialization and ecological student experiences, we
provide a social constructivism that assists in development of the whole child,
adolescent, and young adult. Our pedagogical approach to education is goal
orientated. We believe that the student learner should be self-directed and
autonomous. Our role as Academic Learning Coaches (Teachers), is as
facilitators of learning process where the student/learner has a choice.
At New Wave OLC, we are Instructional Designers. Our system of learning is unique to this time and age. As trans-classroom teachers, we take our best experiences from the past and join them with the ideas of a new educational realm. Communications with students through online forums and stressing proper
netiquette (positive, supportive, and instructive) lends to success down the
road. Who can be there each day ensuring such a victory?
