The new summative testing rule is causing some families to go into a tizzy wondering how their well-adjusted student is not functioning at optimal levels as previous years. In fact, several parents have informed Academic Learning Coach that their student's academic progress has resulted from three chapter test grades! It saddens us to hear that such productive students have their academic self esteem resting on how well they perform on major tests. Furthermore, class assignments now only recieve a formative 20% of the grade and homework receives no credit at all. This does not encompass the total learner in our book!
